Similar to Netflix mobile-only plan, MTN Prime Video Mobile Edition is a new offer that gives you mobile-only access to Prime Video movies and shows for the nice subscription of ₦800 naira per month. The catch is that you can only use this on your smartphone and is available to only MTN subscribers.
The standard Prime Video subscription costs ₦2,300 naira monthly, so this mobile-only version provides subscribers with some significant saving in costs. It sounds like a fair deal to me.

Before you subscribe
Here are a few things to note about the MTN Prime Video Mobile Edition package.
You can only access it on your smartphone, and only on one mobile device at a time.
The video is streamed and downloadable only in SD (standard definition) video quality.
You can download content for offline viewing / watch on the go.
There are no ads displayed, thankfully. You are paying, after all.
The MTN Prime Video Mobile Edition subscription gives you access to Prime Video, but it will still use up your data for streaming and downloading video, so you need a robust data plan.
You do not require a debit card to subscribe to MTN Prime Video Mobile Edition. The subscription is paid using airtime.
Enjoy a free trial of MTN Prime Video Mobile Edition
More good news is that MTN is offering a 30-day Prime Video Mobile Edition free trial. During that trial, you get 2.5GB Prime Video data for 30 days. After the 30-day trial is over, you start paying your ₦800/month subscription fee. I have no idea for how long this free trial will be available, but as at the time of typing this, it is available.
How to subscribe to MTN Prime Video Mobile Edition
Make sure you have an active Internet connection and at least ₦800 airtime on your MTN line to pay for your subscription.
On your MTN smartphone, dial *447*2*5#, then choose the Prime Video Mobile Edition subscription that costs ₦800/ month. There are some other packages that cost more, but you are looking for the most affordable option, so you can ignore them if you are already subscribed to a high-value or robust MTN data plan.
PS: With the new unified service codes introduced, dialling *447*2*5# does not work any more. It is expected that MTN will announce a new means of activating the Prime Video Mobile Edition subscription.
If you are not subscribed to a robust data plan, you should consider one of those other options, as follows:
MTN Prime Video Mobile Edition + 2.5 GB Prime Video Data. MTN says the bundled 2.5 GB data here should let you watch up to 15 movies or 30 episodes of shows. Cost: ₦1,300.
MTN Prime Video Mobile Edition + 5.5 GB Prime Video Data. MTN says the bundled 2.5 GB data here should let you watch up to 30 movies or 60 episodes of shows. Cost ₦1,800.
Note that Prime Video data won’t work for any other app or service on your phone; only for watching video on the Prime Video app.Also, if you subscribe to either of these extended packages when the trial offer is available, you will enjoy your 30-day free trial, after which your paid subscription will then kick in.
