Glo data share is not like others from other networks which allows you to share a certain amount out of your available balance. With Glo, the service allows you to add up to 5 Glo network users to your data plan and they get to enjoy immediate fast data services just like you.

You link these phone numbers after you subscribe to your data bundle, and they get to use that bundle till it expires or runs out. The added users will browse for free as it is your data plan that is going to be charged.

Follow the steps below to share data on Glo using any one of the 4 ways.

Share Data on Glo using the USSD code

Follow the steps below to share data on Glo using the USSD code.

  • Go to your Phone app, and dial *777#
  • Reply with 1 (Data), then reply with 6 (Share Data).
  • Reply with 1 (Share).
  • Now, enter the Glo phone number of the person you want to share data with, and send.

You will receive a message letting you know that it has been successful, and the recipient will also get a notification and can start using your data immediately.

Share Data on Glo using the Glo Cafe App

To share Glo data on Glo using the GLO Cafe app, follow the steps below.

  • Download and Install the GLO Cafe app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
  • Sign in to the app using your Glo mobile number and desired password.
  • Navigate to the Share/Gift icon, and tap it.
  • Tap Share Data from the tab available at the top of the page.
  • Now, type in the mobile number of the person you want to share your data with, and tap the Share button.

You will receive a message letting you know that it has been successful, and the recipient will also get a notification and can start using your data immediately.

Share Data Using Glo Online Web App

To share data on Glo using the online web app, follow the steps below :

  • Go to the GLO web app and sign in with your Glo phone number and desired password.
  • Tap Share/Gift on the left-hand side of the page.
  • Tap Share Data from the list of options available.
  • Enter the phone number of the person you want to share data with, and tap the Share button.

You and the recipient be notified once this is successful.

How to Unshare Data on Glo

If your data plan is already low and you no longer want to share data because you want it to last longer, here is how to unshare data on Glo.

  • Go to your Phone app, and dial *777#
  • Reply with 1 (Data), then reply with 6 (Share Data).
  • Reply with 2 (Unshare).
  • Now, enter the Glo phone number of the person you want to stop sharing your data plan with, and send.

How to See Shared Numbers on your Glo Data Plan

To see the numbers that you are presently sharing data with on your Glo network, follow any of the two steps below.

  • In the Glo Cafe App, tap on the “Share/Gift” option, and a list of all the numbers you share data with will be displayed.
  • Send “List” to 777 and you will be replied with a message showing you the people you’ve shared your GLO data with.

How to Use Glo Data Gifting

Like I said earlier, I am also going to show you how to use data gifting on Glo.

  • Go to your Phone app, and dial *777#
  • Reply with 1 (Data), then reply with 5 (Data Gifting).
  • Choose the data plan to gift, and enter the recipient’s phone number, and send.

Or alternatively, you can use the Glo Cafe App

  • Open the Glo Cafe App
  • Tap Share/Gift, and tap Gift Data.
  • Enter the recipient’s phone number and data plan, and send.

Data gifting buys a data plan for the other user from your available airtime balance.

You will be notified that it is successful.

Key Things to Note About Sharing Data on Glo

  • This service is only available to fellow Glo subscribers.
  • You cannot share data from a borrowed data balance.
  • The data sharing will last as long as the data plan is still active.
  • There is no charge for using this Glo service.
