TECNO has been making interesting moves with their premium and upper midrange phones in recent times. The CAMON 20 Premier 5G Mr Doodle Edition is the latest. The Camon 20 series was first released in May, and now the Mr. Doodle Edition is here to compliment the range with a catchy feature.
The phone ships in an attractive graffiti styled box with a 45W charger and USB-C cable, a transparent protective case, a pair of wireless earbuds, and USB headphones (the phone lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack).
At the top of the 6.67-inch AMOLED display is a centered selfie camera hole housing a 32MP shooter with dual-LED flash to assist in low light situations.
At the back is a 50MP main camera with sensor-shift OIS anti-shake technology, along with a 108MP ultrawide camera (that doubles as a macro lens) and a 2MP depth sensor. The main camera shoots 4k video at 30fps. There is a ring-LED flash in the picture too.
Powering the Camon 20 Premier Mr. Doodle Edition is the Dimensity 8050 chipset, and there is 8GB of RAM coupled with it. You can extend that with up to an additional 8GB Extended RAM. There is 512GB built-in storage and no port to extend that. The Camon 20 Premier 5G has stereo speakers that gave us pleasant first impressions.
We quickly popped MTN and Airtel SIM cards in the Camon 20 Premier 5G Mr. Doodle Edition (this is eternally a long name to type or pronounce, but we plod on), and the device quickly connected to 5G on both networks. So, if you were wondering if you’d be able to use 5G on those networks, yes.
What stands out the Mr. Doodle Edition from the regular Camon 20 Premier is the white back cover that glows in the dark. If you enjoy night life and don’t mind getting lots of attention with your smartphone, you will be interested in this phenomenon.
