It almost feels like deja vu. As millions of Internet subscribers abandoned Globacom for MTN, the Y’hello network seems to be swamped beyond capacity. Subscribers to MTN Internet around the country are lamenting about how horrible MTN data has become.

Apparently, MTN introduced more pocket-friendly data tariffs without adding adequate network capacity to handle the new subscribers that have since flooded to it. As a matter of fact, some subscribers say MTN is the new Glo.

On the flip side, some Globacom subscribers report some improvement in quality of service on that network.

Meanwhile, the management of MTN has sent out text messages containing an apology to subscribers for the poor data speeds being experienced. The text message reads:

Y’ello. We apologize for slow data speeds and difficulty with accessing the internet. Please bear with us as we work to resolve the issue. Thank you.
