Chinese smartphone maker, Vivo, have officially announced two new V-series smartphones in Nigeria, namely: Vivo V21 and Vivo V21e. Both devices share a number of similarities, including 6.4-inch display (with some differences), 44MP selfie camera, 64 MP main camera, 8 GB RAM, 128 GB internal storage, 4000 mAh battery, and 33W fast charging.

So, how do they differ? The main difference is in the processor department. Vivo V21 uses a 5G-capable Dimensity 800U 5G processor (but without 5G-enabled on it), while the V21e uses a Snapdragon 720G processor. So, we are looking at the same phone, but one with 5G and the other with 4G LTE. Also, while Vivo V21e has a 3.5 mm audio jack port, the V21 does not have it.

Which networks do Vivo V21 and V21e work on?

Both devices work on the following networks in Nigeria:

While the Vivo V21 uses a 5G-capable processor, it is not a 5G device. It has a 5G variant though that uses the same Dimensity 800U 5G chipset. Why manufacturers do confusing things like this beats us. Anyway, there are no active 5G networks in the country at this time, so it is a good thing that the V21 5G variant isn’t available in the country yet.
