OPPO Ace 2 5G Launched With Quad Camera, 90Hz AMOLED Display

The Oppo Ace 2 device, which is a successor to the Oppo Reno Ace has been launched. This device which was originally launched in China on Monday has seen the ‘Reno’ removed from the name branding that was seen in the predecessor.

The device, which was tipped to be dual-SIM in an earlier article runs an Android 10 based ColorOS 7.1. It also features a 6.55-inch, 1080×2400 pixels full-HD+ AMOLED display that is protected by the Gorilla Glass 5 and has a screen refresh rate of 90Hz.

Under the hood, the Oppo Ace 2 has Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 SoC keeping things ticking, with options of 8GB and 12GB of RAM working in tandem with 128GB and 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage.

In the camera department, this device is confirmed to feature four rear cameras, with a 48-megapixel main camera which is accompanied by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2-megapixel portrait sensor and another 2-megapixel monochrome lens. In front, the smartphone’s selfie camera has been confirmed as a 16-megapixel shooter.

A 4,000mAh battery with 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 Flash Charge and 40W Air VOOC wireless fast charging support complete the hardware specs of this 5G phone. The device boasts connectivity options including 5G SA/NSA, Wi-Fi 802.11 ax, Bluetooth v5.1 and a USB Type-C port.

The Oppo Ace 2 weighs around 185 grams and has two different storage variants, with the 8GB RAM+128GB model costing $570, the 8GB RAM+256GB model costing around $625 and the 12GB RAM+256GB model costing $650. The Ace2 comes in different color options, including Moon Rock Grey and Aurora silver, with the phone set to go on sale first in China on the 20^th of April before coming to markets in other regions.
