If you are a Globacom subscriber in Nigeria, the new Glo 4G LTE band 3 will give you better access to 4G Internet on the network. There are confirmed reports that Glo 4G is now also available on LTE Band 3(1800) at random locations in the country. The service had initially launched on the rare LTE band 28(700), which is not available on many smartphones. If this report turns out to be true, Glo 4G users and lovers will be ecstatic, as the hunt for smartphones that support band 28(700) can come to an end.

While it has seemed that there has been no official statement from Globacom themselves, in a February 2019 press statement from the company, Globacom’s Group Technical Director, Sanjib Roy, stated that the national operator is indeed deploying 4G LTE services on band 3(1800) “in major cities” to increase the network’s 4G LTE penetration.

  1. I use a Redmi Note 5 Pro. My phone does not have Band 28

I can get Glo 4G in Lagos Island, Ikoyi and some parts of VI. I’ve been able to get that for over two months of retrying a Glo SIM again.

    • I can now connect to Glo LTE now on my infinix note 4, which was not possible earlier before now, thanks to Glo for changing their minds and tapping into the larger sector of 4g users

    • Glo would have been wise enough initially to use band 3(1800) than band 28(700) on the 4G LTE service. Now they have lost millions of customers nation wide. I myself who have been canvassing for Glo on their behalf, almost optout from using their services, until this January 16th 2020 i started receiving 4G LTE on my Tecno tablet phone that has band LTE: B1/B3/B7/B8 and B20, at Idimu lkotun axis Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State

    • Additional info: I can now pick Glo 4G on the Nokia 3.1+ and also on my Xiaomi Redmi note 7.
Location: Most parts of Ibadan metropolis
