As far as the displays of these two phones are concerned, there are very little differences. The Samsung has a marginally bigger and taller display. They are both IPS panels too and resolution are similar. You probably won’t notice any differences between the two screens in use.

Vivo Y1s vs Samsung A02: Security 

Both of these phones lack a fingerprint scanner. Bummer. However, the Vivo Y1s makes up for it with Face unlock. The Samsung does not have that either; you are left with using good old PIN or password for security.

The Galaxy A02 uses the MediaTek MT6739W (28 nm) processor, an old 2017 chip. It is clocked at 1.5GHz. In contrast, the Vivo Y1s uses the more up-to-date and more powerful MediaTek Helio P35 processor (12 nm) which works at a clock rate of 2.35 GHz. It is a 2019 chipset.

You will get much better performance and enjoy a much better gaming experience on the Vivo. As far as performance is concerned, there is no contest. While the Samsung offers more storage options, we are here comparing the base models of both devices – 2 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage.

Both Samsung and Vivo are known for producing smartphones with good cameras, though the former has the edge. On paper, both of them match, with 13 MP rear cameras and 5 MP selfie cameras. Given Samsung’s track records, we will lean towards the A02 having the edge here, though we doubt that edge will be big enough to swing things.

The Galaxy A02 has a decidedly bigger battery – 5000 mAh – against the Vivo’s 4030 mAh. Combined with their respective processors, you will get much better battery life from a single charge with the Samsung. On the flip side, The Y1s’ 10W charging is faster than the A02’s 7.75W charging. If you are all out for battery life, Samsung Galaxy A02 is what the doctor recommends for you.

In conclusion, we have two camps – Vivo Y1s for its lightweight, much better performance, more security options, and faster charging, and Samsung Galaxy A02 for better battery life and likely better photography. As far as prices are concerned, the differences are insignificant.

  1. Hi Mister mobility, thank you. Your comparison is very good. Still cannot make up my mind about which to choose. I suppose price will bind me to choose the cheaper model, and suppose its good enough for me at senior status.

    Currently I have a Vodafone 7″ tablet and have it since 2017 but lately its mostly on charge so I might one day just be without.

    I think the best mobiles I ever had was the Black Berries, where I could type without looking and it just fitted so good in my hand. Sorry they all stopped working.
