While we all Oooh and Aaaah over our smartphones, accessories play an important part in how much value we derive from those devices. We have three August visitors – 3 accessories – from Anker Nigeria in the house for review, and they are all shades of cool.

First on the list of visiting Anker products is the SoundCore Select, a water-resistant Bluetooth speaker with a 24-hour playtime. Second is the PowerCore II Slim, a 10,000 mAh high capacity, fast charging power bank, and the third is the PowerPort+ 1 Quick Charge 3.0 USB fast charger.

All 3 are premium quality accessories. The packaging gave us a hint but it wasn’t until we unboxed them that we got the proper idea of how solid these items are. Shall we call them the 3 Musketeers? Or perhaps the 3 Ankerteers! Anker may be a new name to you, but they are a world-famous brand that manufactures phone accessories. The name Anker comes from the German word for anchor.

Anker Products

Anker products in Nigeria cover 3 broad areas – portable chargers AKA power banks, chargers (USB wall chargers, car chargers, and USB cables), and audio accessories (Bluetooth headsets and speakers). The brand makes other accessories too, including LED flashlights, and power surge protectors, among others.

About Anker Nigeria

Anker has been officially present in Nigeria since 2017, offering a wide selection of accessories. O & O Gadgets is the brand’s official country distributor, so when you hear Anker Nigeria, think Oand O Gadgets. All Anker products sold in Nigeria through the official channels bear an 18-month warranty.

Anker Nigeria have sent us a small sample size of their products to review. There are three of them and I want to do a brief introduction to them here before the reviews come up.

The PowerPort+ 1 USB wall fast charger is rated at 18W (Quick Charge 3.0) and has AI functions built in to adapt to whatever charging technology your phone has. But what I am really itching to test is the 24-hour playtime claim on the SoundCore Bluetooth speaker. 24 hours! That will be something.

The PowerCore II Slim power bank has a 10,000 mAh capacity, which means it can top up your smartphone battery multiple times. It also has fast charging built in so it can charge your compatible smartphone faster than regular portable chargers can.

The physical quality of the Anker Nigeria products is noteworthy. For example, when we opened up the PowerCore II Slim’s box and picked up the power bank itself, we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of materials used for it. One side with the Anker trade-name engraved has a nice soft luxurious feel while the other sides are solid plastic.

It is exciting days ahead as we put these products to use in a wide range of devices. As I type this, the PowerPort+ 1 has already had two trial runs with charging two different devices, the SoundCore is playing Lady Gaga’s “Always Remember Us This Way” on repeat and I intend to let it play till its battery gives up on it – hopefully in 24 hours’ time.

I haven’t put the PowerCore II Slim portable charger to use yet, but its time will come soon. As always, you can expect our detailed reviews in which we share our experiences with using these accessories. Don’t go away. MobilityArena.com is where all the fun and excitement is.
