Some of our readers have asked if I have the Smile APN settings for using a Smile 4G/LTE SIM in a smartphone or tablet. So, I asked on your behalf, and have the information here for your use. As a bonus, I have also included APN settings for Smile Uganda and Tanzania.
1. Note: Your smartphone or tablet must support LTE 800 band. Check the pack or documentation. Putting a Smile SIM in an incompatible device means you will be unable to connect to the network.
2. Normally, your device should automatically configure itself once you pop in your Smile SIM (I am told that BB10 devices do this). If it doesn’t, below are the settings for the configuration if it is not automatically pulled from the network.
Smile Nigeria APN Settings
Here are the internet settings for Smile 4G LTE. These settings will work for both modems/mifi and phones.
- APN Settings Name: Smile 4G
- APN: internet
- Password: Nil (No password needed)
- Proxy: Nil (No proxy needed)
- IP Version: IPv4
You can setup any compatible smartphone, modem or mifi using the above Smile APN settings.
NOTE: You may need to attempt to scan manually for the LTE network which is SMILE NG or 62127. Dazall! Enjoy.
What Of Smile Nigeria default IP?
If you need to know what the Smile Nigeria default IP is, we say that is not as simple as it may sound. Internet service providers often use multiple IP addresses dynamically or according to location. You can use a trace tool like THIS to have an overview of the different IPs that Smile Nigeria uses.
Smile Uganda APN Settings
Here are the internet settings for Smile 4G Uganda. These settings will work for both modems/mifi and phones.
- APN Settings Name: Smile 4G
- APN: internet
- Password: Nil (No password needed)
- Proxy: Nil (No proxy needed)
- IP Version: IPv4
Smile Tanzania APN Settings
Here are the internet settings for Smile 4G Tanzani. These settings will work for both modems/mifi and phones.
- APN Settings Name: Smile 4G
- APN: internet
- Password: Nil (No password needed)
- Proxy: Nil (No proxy needed)
- IP Version: IPv4.
With the above APN configuration settings, you should be able to use a Smile SIM in any compatible device in the listed countries. Happy browsing.
