The A40s houses a bigger battery than its rival, with a 5,000mAh battery pack that is strong enough to support its specs.
In the optics department, it offers more rear cameras in its setup than the Y9, while it only has one selfie sensor unlike the Y9 (which has two). However, with camera comparisons, it is never always a straight battle about the higher figures or the device with more sensors, hence, we cannot assertively say that the A40s offers a better photography experience.
The A40s launched with the Android 8.1 Oreo but can be upgraded to the Android 9. It also offers more external storage than its rival.

The Y9 is a far cheaper option than its counterpart, costing about ₦5,000 less than the A40s’ 4GB variant. It also possesses a faster processor than its rival and has a bigger display, letting users enjoy their activities on a bigger screen.
In the optics department, it houses more selfie sensors than the A40s, but has fewer rear sensors than the smartphone from the South Korean company.
It supports 4G support like its counterpart and offers the same internal storage space, RAM as the Galaxy A40s.

Both devices offer 4G support, boast good camera specs and offer long-lasting batteries. But when it comes to the all-important question, which of these smartphone wins this duel?
The Y9 is a much cheaper option than its counterpart and should be ideal for you if you want a device that lets you get your hands on some nice specs at a decent cost.
However, the Galaxy A40s brings a stronger battery (with fast charging technology) to the fore and has an Android OS that can be upgraded to the Android 9.
The Galaxy A40s offers more external storage than its rival. However, it costs more than the Y9 (with the 6GB RAM selling for ₦90,000), and should be considered if you want something slightly newer or have more cash to splash out.
The Galaxy A40s wins this head-to-head between these mid-range rivals but comes at a higher price, which may be a bit too much for certain buyers. The Y9 however offers good specs at a great price and provides awesome value for the money.
