Huawei P40 Series Launched, P40 Pro+ 5G Comes with Incredible Penta-Rear Camera Setup

The Huawei P40 series launched yesterday in an online event, with the series unveiling the Huawei P40 5G, Huawei P40 Pro 5G and the Huawei P40 Pro+ 5G. As stated in an earlier article, all phones will support 5G and Wi-Fi 6 owing to the Kirin 990 5G chipset under the phones’ hoods.

The Huawei devices will still operate without Google services, with the versions of the Huawei P40 series to be sold in Europe getting a European search engine called Qwant.

The Huawei P40 Pro+ 5G, which is at the top end of the Huawei P40 series features a penta-rear camera setup, with a 50MP main camera, a 40MP ultra-wide-angle shooter, an 8MP SuperZoom periscope lens camera with 10× optical zoom, an 8MP telephoto lens with 3× optical zoom and a 3D depth sensing camera. Up front, the P40 Pro+ has a 32MP selfie camera paired with a depth sensing camera.

The P40 Pro+ 5G comes with 8GB RAM coupled with 512GB of inbuilt storage and houses a battery that is rated a respectable 4,200mAh. The phone also features Wireless SuperCharge at 40W and fast charging.

The P40 Pro+ is priced at €1,399 and comes in a number of interesting color options like Black Ceramic and White Ceramic. The device is expected to go on sale in various markets from June.

The Huawei P40 5G runs an Android 10 with EMUI 10.1. It also features a 6.1-inch OLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate. This smartphone has a triple-rear camera setup, with a 50MP primary camera, a 16MP ultra-wide-angle shooter and an 8MP telephoto lens. It also features a 32MP selfie camera in a hole-punch design.

The P40 comes with 8GB RAM that is paired with a smaller 128GB of inbuilt storage which can be expanded through Huawei’s Nano Memory 2 card. This device features a 3,800mAH battery with SuperCharge fast charging support at 22.5W. It comes in a number of color shades from Deep Sea Blue to Ice White and is priced at €799. The Huawei P40 will go on sale from the 7th of April 2020.

The Huawei P40 Pro 5G comes with an expansive 6.58-inch display that boasts a refresh rate of 90Hz. The P40 Pro 5G features four rear cameras also having a 50MP primary camera, a 40MP ultra-wide-angle shooter, a 12MP telephoto lens with SuperSensing and a 3D depth sensor. This smartphone also features a 32MP selfie camera with a depth sensor.

With 8GB RAM and 256GB of inbuilt storage, this device shares a number of similarities with the P40 Pro+ 5G. In terms of battery, the Huawei P40 Pro 5G comes with a 4,200mAh battery that supports SuperCharge 40W fast charging and Wireless SuperCharge 27W fast charging. This smartphone will go on sale from the 7th of April and will cost €999.
