It looks pretty much the same as its predecessor, but Samsung Galaxy A16 5G has some upgraded specs and features to make you jump at it.
Firstly, it has a bigger display. It is also slimmer, has IP54 dust and splash resistance, and will get up to 6 years of major Android updates and 6 years of security patches. When was the last time you ever heard of a ₦280,000 to smartphone getting 6 years of software support?
One other significant different at this price point is the absence of a 3.5mm headphone jack. That feature is fast going extinct. Get your Bluetooth earbuds for this one.
Apart from the slight difference in size, the Samsung Galaxy A16 5G’s display is a Super AMOLED panel like what obtains in its predecessor. Other similar features include the cameras, battery capacity, and charging speed. The two devices are pretty much the same in those areas.
The device is available in two memory variants – one with 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage, and the other with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. If you need more storage space, there is a microSD card slot available.
One other odd thing is that Samsung Galaxy A16 5G will be sold with two different chipsets in different regions. In Europe, it will sell with the Exynos 1330 chip, but the version coming to Africa and Asia will likely have a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chip inside.
