HyperOS is the new custom user interface that Xiaomi has developed to replace MIUI. Like MIUI, it is based on Android OS, so it is not exactly a new “operating system” as it is being called in some places. Anyway, the question on the minds of many savvy Xiaomi phone users is, Which Xiaomi phones will get HyperOS? People want to know if their phone will get the new software.
The simple answer is: At least, 60 Xiaomi phones will get updated to HyperOS. While the big guns, like the latest premium flagship Xiaomi 13 and 14 series, will get the HyperOS update, it is nice to also see that much smaller fry like the Redmi 12C will be updated as well.
Xiaomi has also released a new logo for the new custom user interface; it will replace MIUI and the old logo. Have a look:

HyperOS 1.0 is based on Android 14
HyperOS 1.0 is based on Android 14, so basically, Xiaomi phones that get it are updated to Android 14. But HyperOS is so much more than just a mobile operating system. It is an end-to-end system that powers cars and homes as well. It powers Xiaomi’s first electric cars, SU7 and SU7 Max.
When will these phones get HyperOS?
HyperOS was announced in October 2023. Roll out for the new custom user interface will start in January 2024. The roll out will happen in phases, so it might not get to your device immediately, but when it is available for you, you will get an update notification on your phone.
January 6, 2024 update: I have confirmation that Redmi Note 12 4G users are getting the update already. Someone in my circles already has it on their unit. Which is fantastic, considering how slow previous Xiaomi software updates were. GSMArena also reports that Xiaomi 13T Pro units in Europe are now getting the update as well.
I also got confirmation that someone with Xiaomi 11T has received the update here in Nigeria. Have a look at the comments section.
January 12, 2024: One of our Redmi 12C units got the update, so we can confirm that HyperOS is now rolling out to Redmi 12C in Nigeria. Here is a video of the update process and first impressions:
