If reports from Huawei’s home country, China, are anything to go by, the Huawei Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro smartphones are on to a great start, as they have reportedly sold one million units in about a week after launch. And that is from China sales only.
The Mate 30 devices are not yet available internationally. Both devices may have a hard time in the international market because of the lack of Google Services and apps. There are ways to install the missing Google services and apps, but most users are unlikely to put them to use.
In China, however, Google services are banned and so the Mate 30 phones face no such resistance from users.
Reports from media outlets in China say consumers stayed on long queues to be one of the first to purchase the Huawei Mate 30 Pro and the Mate 30.
Despite its software limitations, the Huawei Mate 30 Pro is a solid, impressive smartphone with a class-leading camera that topped DxOMark’s charts.
