At a virtual launch event, OPPO Nigeria has officially launched two new mid-range smartphones, OPPO Reno5 and Reno5 F, in Nigeria. The two devices are similar in a number of ways, with some key differences. OPPO is one of the top smartphone brands in the world and has released a catalogue of smartphones and accessories in the country in the last few years.
OPPO Reno5 sports a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass 3. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G chipset coupled with 8GB RAM and 128GB ROM. Battery size is 4310mAh and there is 50W VOOC Flash Charge 4.0 to go with it. The main camera is a 64-megapixel quad unit, while there is a 44-megapixel snapper at the front for selfies.

Its sibling, OPPO Reno5 F, features a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with 60Hz refresh rate but drops the Gorilla Glass protection. The processor is a Mediatek Helio P95 and it has 8GB of RAM and 128GB ROM coupled in. Battery size is the same 4310mAh, but fast charging here is dropped to 30W VOOC Flash charge. The main camera is a 48-megapixel quad camera, while the front camera is a 16-megapixel snapper.
The Reno5 sells for ₦169,900. If you pre-order now, you get a Enco W31 wireless headset along with it. The Reno5 F has a price tag of ₦129,900 and comes with a power bank if you pre-order. Pre-order runs from now till the 21st of March, 2021.
