TECNO Phantom V Flip2 is the successor to 2023’s Phantom V Flip 5G, TECNO ‘s first clamshell foldable device. Gone is the circular external display and in its place is a more conventional display. It launches with HiOS 14 based on Android 14.
TECNO promised two years of software updates for its predecessor and that model is still sitting on Android 13, which it launched with, till date. What is expected of software updates for the Phantom V Flip2? Most likely the same two years and the same slow fulfillment of the promise.
Apart from the rectangular cover display (and it supports more than just widgets this time), other key improvements in the specs over last year’s model are the bigger 4,720mAh battery, and the faster 70W wired fast charging, and we are here for those.
We were expecting a Dimensity 8200 chipset, but TECNO disappointed us and included a Dimensity 8020 chipset instead. Is it any better than the Dimensity 8050 in the original Phantom V Flip? By a hairline. It is 99.9% the same chip.
