Which phones will get TECNO AI? Does yours qualify for the big update?

What is TECNO AI? It is a suite of AI tools developed by Chinese phone brand, TECNO. The TECNO AI suite includes AI Search, Ella AI digital assistant, AI Writing (which helps with composing emails, among other tasks), AI Art Board, and AI Translation.

The suite was launched in September 2024. The company says that TECNO AI will become a part of all of their smartphones. It has already shipped with some 2024 models but it is also expected to be rolled out to some existing models as part of a software update.

The following TECNO smartphones will get TECNO AI via software updates:

Just a thought: it is likely that these new AI tools will arrive with the much awaited Android 14 update for these TECNO smartphones. Owners of these models have been itching for Android 14 to arrive for their devices till now.

When will the update happen?

Nobody knows. Even worse, TECNO is not known for speedy software updates, so it is probably better to not expect it to happen soon. If you own one of the above-listed eligible TECNO smartphones, just calm down and be patient.

What happened to the Phantom X series?

Meanwhile, does anyone know what happened to TECNO’s Phantom X series? The original Phantom X was released in 2021 and was followed by the Phantom X2 and X2 Pro in 2022.

Naturally, we were expecting a Phantom X2 and X3 Pro in 2023, but those didn’t happen. Instead we got the Phantom Z Fold and Z Flip.

Has TECNO axed the Phantom X range? Are the X2 and X2 Pro the last we will see of them or is the company back to the drawing board for the series? Let’s hear your thoughts.
