Xiaomi POCO X3 NFC: A quick look

Posted by

It’s interesting how Xiaomi, over the years, have risen through the ranks and established themselves as one of the top smartphone brands on our planet. The POCO X3 NFC is another testament to that success. There are not many phones in the same price range that offer some of the value that this device does.

One key feature that separates it from the vanilla POCO X3 is the presence of Near-field Communication on this model, which is missing on the vanilla model.

Xiaomi POCO X3 NFC

It was built mostly for gaming and entertainment purposes, but you can still get some work done on it. The best part is that it’s not even a high-end phone, but has so many impressive features. I, for one, love the gaming capabilities of the phone.

The POCO X3 NFC was released on the 8th September, 2020. It does not support 5G but it has a really fast and efficient 4G processor.

  • System on chip: Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G
  • CPU: Qualcomm® Kryo™ 470 CPU, 8nm process technology
    Octa-core processor, up to 2.3GHz
  • GPU: Adreno 618

You see that Qualcomm chip there? That is high grade. Of course, there are better chips and processors, but the 732G will do right by you. That ‘G’ stands for gaming, that means top-notch gaming experience regardless of what you are playing. In my opinion, I think this phone was centred on gaming itself. This is one of Xiaomi’s shots at giving a wonderful experience to their consumers at all levels, seeing as it is not a high-end phone at all.

  • Memory: 6 GB LPDDR4X RAM
  • Storage: 64/128 GB  UFS 2.1

It has the expected memory and storage space, with the option to choose how much storage you want. That will make the price of the phone differ. I recommend 128 GB if you are a gamer or you want the phone for entertainment purposes. 6 GB and 128 GB is where anti-lag support starts, so pick wisely and according to your budget too.

  • Display: 6.67″ DotDisplay, 120Hz refresh rate
    240Hz touch sampling rate
    Resolution: 2400 x 1080 FHD+
    20:9 aspect ratio, 395ppi
    Contrast: 1500:1 (typ)
    Corning® Gorilla® Glass 5
  • Dimensions: Height: 165.3mm
    Width: 76.8mm
    Thickness: 9.4mm
    Weight: 215g

Don’t you just love large phones with a beautiful display as well as design? I know I do. And it is not as heavy as it seems.120 Hz is better than great, it’s  insane for a phone of this level. Imagine getting up to 240 Hz touch sampling rate when gaming, for CODM and PUBG players, you know what that means, LMAO. You will probably never lose those gunfights again, if you are snappy enough, that is.

  • Battery: 5160 mAh,
    Supports 33W fast charge
    33W fast charger in-box

A battery that large and powerful and we still get 33W fast charge? What more can you ask for.

  • Rear Camera:
    64MP main camera
    Sony IMX682, 1.6μm 4-in-1 Super Pixel, 1/1.73“ sensor size, f/1.89
    13MP ultra-wide angle camera
    119° Bildweitwinkel, f/2.2
    2MP macro camera
    1.75μm pixel size, f/2.4, FF (4cm)
    2MP depth sensor
    1.75μm pixel size, ƒ/2.4
  • 4K video recording 30fps
    1080p video recording 30fps
    720p video recording 30fps
  • Front Camera: 1.6μm 4-in-1 super pixel
    f/2.2 aperture

The camera of the POCO X3 NFC is what you call “FANTASTIC”. Xiaomi don’t play around. Even with a phone that is incorporated with so much already, they still gave us excellent camera quality and features. There are not many phones in the same price range that can beat this (if any). Expect, well detailed, lit, and beautiful pictures.

  • Network & Connectivity: 4G: LTE FDD: B1/2/3/4/5/7/8/20/28
    4G: LTE TDD: B38/40/41 (2535-2655MHz)
    3G: WCDMA: B1/2/4/5/8
    2G: GSM: B2/3/5/8
  • Supports WiFi 2×2 MIMO
    Supports Bluetooth 5.1

Like I said before, it doesn’t support 5G but the 4G is pretty viable, fast and efficient.

Navigation & Positioning: GPS/ A-GPS / GLONASS / Beidou / Galileo
  • Sensors:Proximity sensor | Ambient light sensor |
    Accelerometer | Gyroscope | Electronic compass |
    Linear motor | IR Blaster

Xiaomi POCO X3 NFC

Water & Dust resistance: IP53 splash-proof protection

  • Operating System: MIUI 12 for POCO, based on Android 10
    POCO Launcher 2.0

The POCO X3 NFC also has the latest MIUI 12 with the Android 10. That means, exciting and beautiful phone features with an efficient OS.

The POCO X3 NFC starts at a price of around N140,000 and differs due to the storage variants (64 or 128 GB). It is well available in different stores and online platforms. This is literally an early Christmas gift from Xiaomi, don’t overlook it.
