Mobile lines in Nigeria drop in February 2019

For the fisrt time since August 2019, Nigeria recorded a drop in the total number of connected mobile lines. From a total of 174,012,136 active users in January, the statistics from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) shows a drop to 173,670,035 at the end of February.

MTN Nigeria lost the highest number of lines – about a million. Airtel added les than 5,000 new lines, while 9mobile and Glo added 345,000 and 400,000 respectively.

Still, MTN remained Nigeria’s largest mobile operator by number of active lines.
