Huawei held an online unveiling yesterday, launching the Nova 7 series and the new Huawei MatePad. This Huawei MatePad is a toned-down version of the MatePad Pro which was unveiled in China in November of 2019.
The Huawei MatePad comes with a 10.4-inch (2560×1600 pixels) IPS display and a Kirin 810 SoC under the hood. This MatePad is introduced as an educational tool, with a baked-in education center bursting with learning resources and its own “focus UI”.
This MatePad has a number of other features which ensures that young users don’t get distracted while carrying out schoolwork. The tablet has a special reading mode that cuts-out blue light and simulates a monochrome e-paper like experience, while also helping users keep the right posture and eye distance while reading.
The MatePad also provides support for the M-Pencil stylus accessory and features four large Harman Kardon-tuned speakers with four microphones, boosting the multimedia experience. This device measures 245.2×154.96×7.35mm and weighs 450 grams.

The MatePad comes in three storage variants with the 4GB RAM+64GB Wi-Fi variant costing $270, the 6GB RAM+128GB Wi-Fi model goes for $310 and the 6GB RAM+128GB LTE version costs $350. It is currently only available in the color white.
