How to disable Control Center on TECNO phone lockscreen for better security/privacy

By default, TECNO phones are set such that you can swipe down on the lock screen to access both the notification center and the control center.

Not everybody is concerned about smartphone privacy and security, but if you are concerned and use a TECNO smartphone, this article is for you.

It might not have been obvious to you, but this default configuration is a privacy and security risk. How is it so? It is because though your phone is locked, anyone can access your notification center to read what’s there and anyone can still toggle certain settings, including mobile data, from the Control Center.

You don’t want that. It is best to to disable both the Notification Center and Control Center on the phone’s lock screen. Skip below to see the easy steps you need to take to do that.

Steps to disable control center on TECNO phones

The latest releases of TECNO ‘s HiOS have new setting options for disabling control center and notification center on TECNO smartphones. Here is how to do it:

On your TECNO smartphone, go to Settings > Notification Center > More Settings > Swipe Down on Lock Screen, and disable both options listed there. In other words, toggle off both of them: Notification Center and Control Center. Both of them are disabled if the corresponding buttons are greyed out.

To test whether your new improved privacy and security works, now go ahead to lock the screen of your phone and try to swipe down to access Control Center as Notification Center. You will now be unable to access both while your TECNO phone screen is locked.

Now, for you or anyone else to access your phone’s Control Center and Notification Center via a swipe down, you have to first unlock your phone. Your TECNO smartphone just got more secure.
