Made in Rwanda smartphones by Maraphone, the Mara X and MaraZ, are now on sale in Nigeria. Both phones sport budget specifications and features, with the exception of the brushed aluminium build and Corning’s Gorilla Glass protection on their screens.
They are both Android One smartphones, running pure Android 8 Oreo.
The Mara X is the cheaper of the two with a 5.5-inch display, 1GB RAM and a quad-core Mediatek chipset. The Mara Z has a 5.7-inch display, 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, and a Snapdragon 435 chipset. It also has a 3075 mAh battery with fast charging.
The two phones however cost ₦65,000 and ₦90,000 respectively.

₦65,000 and ₦90,000 for phones made in Rwanda? WTF?! I think I’ll rather stick to itel, Tecno, Blackview, Umidigi, and other brands that make affordable, high quality phones for now.
As far as I’m concerned, those phones are grossly overpriced
₦65,000 for a phone with 1GB of RAM! That’s preposterous
And they want to dominate Africa with that lame phone for that outrageous price. Who will waste that kind of money and a dumb phone. They’re not serious.
MARA phones biggest liars. these phones are available on General Mobile Turkey site. They are not even made in Africa . What a bunch of liars and trying to cheat us africans
Make sense
