The itel A23 is MTN-branded, supports 4G LTE, and comes with free 20GB data + 100% data bonus for six months on the MTN network.

It is available from MTN outlets only for ₦22,000.

Zen Admire Shine is one of the cheapest 4G smartphones in Nigeria. It has a tiny 4-inch, 480×854 pixel screen, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage memory, a 1750 mAh battery, and Android 7.0 Nougat, which is a few years old.

Don’t let the older software deter you. You want a cheap 4G smartphone and it is dirt cheap. It sells for just ₦15,000.

Where can you find the Admire Shine to buy? Check on Jumia, Konga, Jiji, and similar online stores.

Lava Z5 Pro has a 5-inch LCD screen, a MediaTek MT6737M processor, 1 GB RAM, 8 GB storage memory, 5 MP Rear Camera, 2 MP front camera, and a 2500mAh battery. It runs Android 8 Oreo (Go Edition), which is only a little newer than what the Admire Shine has.

You can find the Lava Z50 Pro for as low as ₦14,000 in the market, especially from online stores like Jumia, Jiji and the like.

Airtel Nigeria used to have a partnership with Lava and sold Lava phones. I have no idea whether that partnership is still ongoing, so do ask Airtel customer support.

There you go: the few available 4G phones below 25000 naira. As this is entry-level territory, these phones have basic specs. But they are functional.

Consider using these 4G phones below 25000 naira similar to owning a basic, compact city car. It is not designed for high performance. It doesn’t have the most advanced specs and features. But it gets you from point A to B.

The most important thing is that you don’t have to endure creepy, slow 3G Internet in 2021 just because all you can afford to spend on a phone is ₦25,000.
