It was just a a few weeks ago that I mentioned a feature like this during a conversation, and here it is now: WhatsApp is adding a feature that lets others share your status updates to their own contacts.
There are two big things about this: the first is that you have full control over whether others can share your status update, and the second is that this feature means you can now potentially reach more people with any information you want to broadcast.
The feature is in beta now, and those who are already using it in that state say that the option to let your contacts share your status updates is present at the point of posting. This gives you full control over who can share each individual status update that you post. I like that.
Having such control is essential for privacy. After all, it isn’t every status you post that you’d like to be publicly reshared by others. Being able to choose which status can be reshared by others is such a smart move.

This reshare feature is a big move by WhatsApp. The platform just got better for publishing information. Then absolute restriction to only your contacts is snow a thing of the past, allowing for information to be pushed out beyond just who you know.
Expect the new status resharing feature to be pushed out from WhatsApp beta to regular WhatsApp users in the next few weeks or months.
