Guide – How to Transfer contacts from your BlackBerry to an Android phone

Last night, I received a help request from someone who wanted to know how to transfer his contacts from BlackBerry to an Android phone. Here is how to go about it. You will need a Gmail account for this. It should also work with a Hotmail/Live/Outlook account.

1. Setup your email account on your BlackBerry

2. If you have an older BlackBerry smartphone (OS5 and below, I believe), you will need Google Sync for BlackBerry, an app that lets you sync your contacts, calender and email with Google’s suit of services (skip this if you’re using a Hotmail/Live/Outlook email account) and use the app to synchronise with your Gmail account

3. If you have a newer Blackberry device, it should sync your contacts with your email account automatically.

4. On your Android smartphone, setup your email account and your synchronised contacts should be automatically transferred to the phone.

    I need a guide to move my contacts from Android back to a BlackBerry since I’m moving to a BlackBerry 10 phone from my Samsung Galaxy.

    The BBC 10 that is yet to come white h you have not used or had a feel of Go for Samsung galaxy note 2 Mobile MOBILE Can’t be wrong.

    There is an easier solution that will transfer / sync all your contacts and not mix up email / phone contacts. Just install IntouchApp on your Blackberry and Android. IntouchApp supports all models, even older Blackberries. You can find the app on App World & Google Play. Those with iPhone can find it on App Store too.

    Another good alternative is to get Rainbow Contacts from the Google Play Store. It will simply copy your contacts from your old phone to your Android phone with ease. It doesn’t need internet connection, all that is required is Bluetooth on the other smartphone and it works on some feature phones too. You can also transfer you contacts from your Android phone to the other smartphone.

    Thanks a lot guys for all the different Apps that were been discussed about, intouchapp has really be helpful in sync my contacts from my blackberry to my iphone.
