Yahoo Messenger for Android gets support for front facing camera

Posted on 22 November 2011 by Mister Mobility

Yahoo Messenger for Android
The Yahoo Messenger app for android has just got a bump up to version 1.5.0. The changelog reads:

  • Support for front facing camera on devices with OS 2.3
  • Improved performance and stability

If you have marked your apps for automatic updates, yours should be up-to-date already. If not, you will need to login to the Android Market to manually update it.

To take advantage of the camera, the Yahoo Messenger Plug-in 1.5 is required, so you need to get that from the Android Market too.

@fortespy, yes you are right. i have used the video calls on yahoo messenger in the past but didn’t have support for from facing camera then. the app is also a bit laggy. hope they have fixed that too. cos that was why i stopped using it. other than that, great app especially as it integrates Facebook chat too.
