The N9 is barely out on the streets and is already getting some love from the boys at Nokia.
Today, Nokia began pushing update version 20.2011.40-4 which brings in a host of performance improvements and 308 new enhancements. Some of these include:
- Improved multitasking and other performance enhancements
- Music controls on the lock screen
- NFC tag reading
- Swype keyboard
- Swipe-down-to-close enabled by default
- Photo and video shooting with color filters: black & white, sepia, vivid, negative, solarize
- Faster MfE synch, synchronizing only active folders
- Noice cancellation reduces background noise
- New indicators for standby screen like charging and calendar
- Twitter 1.1.38 (including photo upload support)
- Facebook 1.1.26
- AccuWeather 1.0.8
- Nokia Store 3.16.009
- Maps 4.1.40
- Drive 1.0.12
- Real Golf 1.1.4
- Ovi Music 0.1.9-1
- NFS Shift 1.0.20
- Galaxy on Fire 2 1.2.7
- AP Mobile 1.0.5
- Angry Birds (Free) 1.1.5
- sdk-connectivity-tool 0.4.17
The update is available Over-The-Air (OTA) and weighs 218.6MB.
My unit is yet to get the update, but I am waiting excitedly. This update is sure to make an already fantastic device even more…well, fantastic.
Nokia says that another update is on the way after this one and bringing even more improvements and additional features.

An update this early why didn’t Nokia show symbian ^3 this much love when it came out. I guess it shows that Nokia is really moving faster under the new CEO.

Eh yah sowie. But ve you manually checked for the update? Saw something like that on gsmarena that if u dnt automatically get the update manually check under settings…
