GloMobile upgrades Mobile Internet Bundle Packages; MTN Subscribers Face Data Blackout

Posted on 03 March 2010 by Mister Mobility

GSM operator, GloMobile has upgraded their prepaid bundle mobile internet packages, giving subscribers more value for their money.

Click on the image for a larger screenshot.

The Always MAX package now offer a 5GB data cap instead of the 3GB it had before.

Always MIN now offers 1.5GB as against the old cap of 1GB.

Always Day now offers 150MB as against the older figures of 100MB and 50MB.

Lastly, G 300 now offers 4GB data in place of the old cap of 3GB.

Thanks to Timmy lawal for the tip-off.

GloMobile has just stepped up the stakes in the mobile internet service landscape of Nigeria. It seems that Nigerians are beginning to enjoy some of the benefits of Globacom’s submarine cable. The current bundle plans from Glo are without doubt the most competitive in the market.

A huge thumbs-up to Glo.

PS: Is it only at our end that MTN GPRS/EDGE/3G/3.5G went AWOL today? We haven’t been able to get a single data connection on the MTN network since mid-day till now. On a day that Glo is glowing so bright (pun intended), the MTN data blackout at our end looks really black.

is this Glo 1 fiber cable at work? The speeds have slowed somewhat in Abuja. With slow speeds one needs longer time to exhaust the data allowance. Good move by glo.

    @archie; Oluniyi:

I had to subscribe to Glo Always Day today after MTN mobile internet went out of service earlier today. I noticed the slower speed too. It is a little annoying though, but at least it works. Anyway, so far I have used only 38 MB of data on the plan. Back then, I would already be watching the data counter with eagle eyes. But now, no shaking.

    Ahhh… this is the life!

Perhaps its time to cross-carpet again?

    Chukwudi,

Yes; I still do. I’ve been bitten by every GSM operator’s service at one point in time or another. Now, I just roll with the wind. Whichever works and serves my interests best at any time gets my money.

I threw brand loyalty to the dogs years ago :-)

Hahaha. I feel you. Brand loyalty just doesn’t work in this country as the quality of their services tend to flail in the wind quite often

Glo should also introduce something similar to zain lite, That’s what those of us that browse on mobile really need.
