I have two Jet in the officce, but i can’t change the username and password in the activesync when i subscribe the first user. i use gmail.

EyeBeeKay, Your above comment is another example of why people get on your case. The review is titled “Why I (Yomi) am keeping the Samsung Jet“; not “Why EyeBeeKay, Kay123 or Dayann should get a Samsung Jet”. Abeg, no dey jump like that.

Yom, I am a bit surprised that you found the Jet usable, so much that you want to keep it. But then, if you say so, I believe you. Who knows, perhaps if I give it a try toooo

Big Bros, I will attempt to play the spoil-sport and dampen your enthusiasm somewhat. Please indulge me!

I mentioned in an earlier post why I would hesitate to pick the supersonic Jet despite the many features. And you hit it right on the nuggin when you mentioned it has the almost ALL the features you need. That is very crux!

The Jet has multifarious features. But, there is NO WAY this can be exhaustive and address the need of Kay123, EyeBeeKay & dear DayAnn!

To further elucidate, in the computing world (and now, phone world!), a system is considered ‘closed’ when there is limited expandibility or is inextensible (hardware or SOFTWARE). The jet, for this reason, no matter how stunningly feature-packed it is, is no better than any common, java-enabled run-of-the-mill phone! Why? If I need a feature in a phone that is not already available on the Jet, I am out of luck. Note that there are software restrictions to what a Java app can do. In Opera Mini (a Java app), for instance, you can NOT download certain files from a site like 4shared.com. But a native App like Opera Mobile 10 can.

It is also great to see that the Jet has made of you, a freshly born-again Apostle of touchscreens!. I have always been pontificating on the inherent superiority of touchscreens over physical QWERTY. My Nokia 5800 is proof. (I have diminutive fingers, so the landscape onscreen keyboard mode, as my downtown friends would put it, is ‘Ebaano)!

Conclusively, some things I find indispensable on a phone – ability to keep the screen backlight on permanently when using ANY application, an outstanding file manager (Xplorer comes to mind), an outstanding Outlines (Kylom Projekt comes to mind).

If the SuperSonic Jet does not have an equivalent ALREADY onboard (and there is on Java app available with that functionality), I am outta luck.

I will stick to a smartphone ANY day. Even if it has great limitations. Usually, usually there is an app to address whatever feature is missing. If it is a smartphone with a well established Operating System…
