Manage your Web Hosting Business on the Go with iWHMCS

Posted on 05 January 2010 by Mister Mobility

WHMCS is an all-in-one client management, billing & support solution for online businesses. WHMCS handles everything from signup to termination, with automated billing, provisioning & management.

We know this first-hand. You see, our sister company Alireta is a leading provider of shared, reseller, and dedicated web hosting in Nigeria. Hundreds of Nigerian websites trust Alireta for their web hosting needs and our clients include some of the highest profile/traffic Nigerian websites.

As a high-profile webhost, our preferred solution is WHMCS. We’ve been using it for a while now and it works well for us. This is why iWHMCS, a new iPhone app for WHMCS, has got our attention in a special way.

Go Mobile with iWHMCS

According to the WHMCS website, iWHMCS lets you manage your business in a truly mobile way. Fully integrated with the main online version, but specifically designed for the iPhone, iWHMCS lets you stay in control even when you’re away from your desk. Functionality includes:

  • browse and manage clients & orders
  • create and send invoices
  • view and respond to support tickets
  • send emails & call clients in one touch
  • view whose online and recent activity

iWHMCS is an add-on to WHMCS, so you need to have a functional WHMCS installation to use it.

If you have an iPhone, handle client services at a web host and this has whet your appetite, you can get the iWHMCS for just $39.95. Visit WHMCS Mobile Edition.

WHMCS Mobile Edition

If you don’t fancy an iPhone but need to use WHMCS on the go anyway, a Mobile Edition is available as an Add-on too for the same price.

The mobile edition of WHMCS is designed specifically for use on mobile devices featuring low graphics and optimised pages for small screens. It’s not a replacement for the admin area but it has all the features necessary to manage and respond to support tickets and to manage and accept new orders.

Meanwhile, how about an Android app for WHMCS – WHMCSdroid perhaps?

It looks to me that the Mobile Edition is a better investments of funds than iWHMCS. They both cost the same, but buying iWHMCS gives you mobile access only on one iPhone, while spending on WHMCS Mobile Edition gives all kinds of mobile phones access to WHMCS on their mobile browsers.

With Mobile Edition, you can change phones across platforms and manufacturers and still have access to management on the go. With iWHMCS, you must stay with the iPhone.

    Just my two cents.
