MTN has announced a new Seamless Roaming Service that will allow MTN pre-paid customers travelling between four countries in the West African sub-region, namely Nigeria, Cameroun, Benin and Ghana, to make and receive calls “in a seamless, hassle-free manner”.
MTN roaming subscribers will be able to travel to any of the four countries with their regular SIM card and make calls at the local tarriffs of whichever country they are in per time. The service inludes SMS “and other value-added services that they enjoy on their home networks”. It is not clear at the moment whether this will include mobile data e.g. GPRS, EDGE and 3G.
